About Fauhn

Fauhn began quietly in early 2025. At first, I was just writing music that reflected what was in my head at the time, without any real sense of it becoming a separate project.

After a few tracks, patterns started to appear. Musically and emotionally, the songs were circling similar ideas. By the time I had five or so pieces written and arranged, it became clear that something was forming on its own. Fauhn did not start as a concept. It emerged from the music.

At its core, Fauhn is a way for me to process my relationship with the world and with my past. Writing this music is therapeutic. It helps me make sense of experiences that made me feel different, and of things that feel foundational to who I am, my values, and how I move through life.

I am involved in other musical projects, most notably Metatone, which I love for the shared emotional connection and collaboration. Fauhn is different. It exists specifically so I can write without compromise.

Here, I can explore complex rhythms and time signatures, sit with uncomfortable feelings, and follow ideas wherever they lead, without needing to negotiate or dilute the emotional core of the work. That lack of compromise is not about control. It is about honesty.

Fauhn is written first and foremost for me. It is an outlet for feelings I struggle to articulate directly, and a way of communicating things that are otherwise hard to say.

That said, I hope the music connects with others. If it helps someone feel calmer, recognise something of themselves, or understand me a little better, then that matters. The connection comes from honesty rather than intention.

Musically, Fauhn draws influence from many places. There are echoes of bands and sounds that have shaped me over time, but the aim is never to emulate. Like in real life, I struggle to define myself neatly in other people's terms. The music reflects that.

Fauhn is not strictly post-rock. Not strictly metal. Not strictly grunge or punk. It sits somewhere between, and sometimes outside, those labels.

This is a multi-instrumental project made by one person. It is not currently designed as a live band, though there may be ways of bringing it into physical space in the future. For now, it exists where it needs to exist.

Quietly. On its own terms.

Back to home.
